I have seen this more than a few times here in Yokohama. Can you help me figure it out? What is the thing on the left and the thing on the right?

They're trains! The old one (on the left) looks classic yet still fun and kickin' (as opposed to washed up and almost dead...one wheel in the grave?). The one on the right is sleek, new, and fireworkin'! Maybe it's a celebration of the transition from old to new...where is it? WTF? If I'm ever in charge of a municipality (mwahahahahah!), watch out! I would FILL it with random shit like this on sidewalks, walls, etc.!

I agree. The one on left is obviously a train - I think the one on the right is a maglev?

Ditto. An old steam engine like Thomas... and a new highspeed bullet one would be my guess on the second.
